And then we celebrated Kai's 3rd birthday!  It was a lovely, not too too hot July morning in our backyard.  All our favorite people were there to help us celebrate.  Kai folded under the pressure of blowing out the candles so big brother Pierce stepped in.  The hit of the gifts was the dino/car toy.  What could be better?!  I think everyone had a good time (especially the kiddos and me).

We celebrated Sophia's 3rd birthday first this summer.  She wanted a strawberry cake so she got it.  Pierce was just happy to have someone to play checkers with.  Mr. Competitive.  Sigh.

Grandpa came over for dinner and we had some extra play time in the backyard.  Leo certainly enjoyed the soccer and the boys loved rough housing with Grandpa.

This year the American Association of Immunologists had their annual conference in Honolulu.  It was a beautiful place to have a meeting.  May 2013

Just another evening outside in the driveway.  Between scooters, bicycles, basketball, shovels, and miscellaneous pieces of outdoor garbage the boys have hours of fun outside in the summer!

At the botanic gardens last spring (2013).  I never imagined that three little kids and two adults could have so much fun walking around looking at water, plants, and sculptures right in the middle of the city.  One of our many trips, this one was extra fun because we got to enjoy the main area, which was new to the kids since they were used to staying in the children's gardens.

OK, here we go.  I'm going to try to archive all the pictures I've been shooting.  It's a lot, but it's worth a try.  I really enjoyed taking the photos, but better is sharing so...

My boys, with sidewalk chalk, making artwork on our driveway.  The best part?  They are making a heart that says "I love you Mom!"
